Oma's Farm

I have been told that Oma's is the best pumpkin patch in San Diego, but Lo and I just never made it out here, until NOW! And everyone is right, this place is awesome! Not only is it a complete working dairy, with tons of cows (we even got to see a 3 hour old calf), but there is sooo much to do!

We took the farming adventure with some of our most favorite friends, Koa, Kaian and their mom, Julie.

Whats a pumpkin patch without a pile o' pumpkins topped with a cute kid.

Ok, I realize this picture is goofy, but I am a total sucker for these type of "stick your head through" photo ops. Check out how lovingly Lo is gazing at the cow...

Logan got to "sled" on a huge cotton seed pile. I had never even seen cotton seed before this, and I would have never guessed it would make such a fun place to sled!

And Oma's even has a huge pile of dirt and tons of trucks to play in! These farmers know what little boys want!

Pre-Halloween Fun

One of my favorite times of the year has begun: the Holidays!! It starts with the warm up to Halloween and usually ends with New Years Day. Its the craziest and most fun times of the year. And Lo is the perfect age to enjoy and begin to understand all the festivities. So let the games begin!!

Logan came back from his visit with Mumi with all kinds of fun Halloween games! Here is Logan and Ethan (from across the street) playing Ghost bowling and the Bat Game.

Logan and I are just loving our newest addition to the house hold, Cash, but this is the most destructive and secretive dog ever!! This is Logan's pumpkin before Cash got a hold of it...

And here is is after!!! I have no idea how he got it off the table and rolled it out the door and ate it before I even heard him.




Logan loves to say "Wanna see my moves?" And this question is usually followed by a unique dance routine. I am just lucky enough to capture a few moments on film...

Lo has recently become quite a little board game player, we enjoyed many, many many games of the lady bug game on the kitchen floor. He has quite the competitive streak, I really didn't think he had it in him, but when it comes to board games, watch out!

And getting ready for Halloween isn't complete with out cinnamon scented, orange play-doh, and the Halloween cookie cutters.

Picture Day!!!!

It was picture day at Miss Suzy's Daycare, and Lo was ready!! He had his outfit all ready, and practiced his smile.

The pictures turned out great!! Logan is such a happy, funny kid, and a total ham when it comes to the camera.

Halloween with Mumi

Logan told his Mumi (even before he told his Mom) that he wanted to be Batman for Halloween, and lucky for Lo he has a very talented Mumi!! Together they researched the Batman he wanted to be (grey Batman, Blue Batman or Black Batman) and together they cut and sewed a costume complete with mask! To top off this creative adventure Logan got to spend a weekend with Mumi where he was invited to a Halloween party and got to play Halloween games with Aunt Ellie and cousin Nora (beautiful new German Shepard in our lives)

End of Summer- Beginning of Fall

To round out an amazing summer, Lo and his buddies headed to a Sunday Padres game! This stadium is totally built for kids! There is a sand box to play in, a small baseball diamond to play on, and a crazy guy with crazy games who gives out San Diego tattoos!! What more could you ask for? Not a whole lot...

Summers festivities end and Fall's fun starts up...

Here we are at Logan's first AYSO soccer game, and his first soccer uniform. Doesn't he look grown up?

All the boys listening to the coaches before the game. Someone told me that coaching little boys soccer is like herding cats, and that is the most accurate description of what I saw on the field for this first soccer game. Oh my!

Birthday Parites, Bugs and Tea Parties

We found this little fellow in the back yard, no idea what he is, but kinda looks like a leaf...

Grace just turned 6 and had a Mad Scientist come to her birthday party, such fun!! Logan loved it, he even got to make slime!

And of course Logan and Koa having cake with all the ladies.

This sweet and sensitive fellow invited me to a tea party. Delish! I love carrot mango juice. How did he know????

The Begining of Soccer Season!

Here we are, I can not believe that my son is old enough for AYSO!! And so it begins...

First day of practice, new ball, new shorts, new cleats, new socks and of course new shin guards.

Summertime! And the Drive In

Nothing better than loading up the car and heading to the drive in on a warm summer evening...

Over the past few years, the Santee Drive In has become a summertime favorite and tradition. We saw Despicable Me (such a funny movie) Everyone loved it!

Cash!!

Logan and I have adopted a new member of the family: Cash. We are both just so in love with our new dog, we can't seem to get enough of him. Here is his story:

There were two stray dogs running around the neighborhood one evening, I was afraid they would get hit by a car so I took them into the house. It was clear they were someones pets and I was pretty sure someone was worried about them. Due to budget cuts the South Bay animal shelter is not open on Sunday or Mondays so I decided to keep them until Tuesday when they opened up. In the mean time I gave them a bath and posted a "Found Dogs" message on Craigslist.

It turns out these dogs belong to my neighbors and their names are June and Steele. Chelsea, their owner, was so grateful and happy to have them home! We chatted for a few min, and I invited her in, always nice to meet a new neighbor.

A few weeks later a received an unexpected email from her:

"Hey julie!This is a stretch I know, but you are SUCH a good person! I picked up junes brother, cash, and was curious to know if ud want to try it and see if hed be a dog you'd want! He's super mellow and a good boy! I want to keep him, but 3 big dogs Is TOO much for our yards! I have a crate and everything if you wanted to try it! He's been around toddlers since he was 4 weeks and actually slept in bed with my best friends son every night. Otherwise, if you know anyone who wants a really good pup let me know!"

So we decided to keep him. The rest is history!!

Beach Days

I love the beach! And it doesn't get better then being at one of my favorite places with my favorite little guys. These are pics of us at Bonita Cove and Coronado.

Then we headed to breakers. I adore this beach, it is on the Naval base (thanks Will for being an Army reservist) And there is always tons of parking, its not crowded and there are bathrooms!! Could these three be any cuter??

There are so many ways to enjoy the beach: Here is my very muscular boy jumping over the waves...

and body surfing....

and nothing beats trucks in the sand...

and of course fetching water...

and round out the day by collecting seashells.

The beach is and will always be a favorite place for me and Lo.
